As the Winter season starts to wane, it's time to work on the city's annual budget. It is developed by a committee of city councilors and citizen volunteers. If you are interested in participating on the committee, you can pick up a committee member request form at City Hall. Budget Committee appointments will be made prior to April 1 of each year.
The city of Sumpter’s annual budget is a roadmap for managing expected revenues, expenditures, and debt on a fiscal year basis (July 1 to June 30). Throughout the year, the roadmap provides a benchmark to measure performance and financial health; allowing city leadership to make informed decisions for city operations.
