City Burn Pile Update
9/30/2026
Good Afternoon Sumpter!
We have been informed by our fire chief Kurt Clarke that ODF will be coming out to inspect our city burn pile and if it is acceptable, recieve a special burn permit. This could happen anytime within the next 5 days. So please be aware that you may see smoke in the area, and to not be alarmed. This is a good thing! The SVFD will be reducing the current burn pile in preperations for our new location to start recieving your yard debris. We will let the public know when the new burn pile will be opened up, along with the rules and restrictions for use. Thank you for your patience on this matter.
